Me 20M thinking of dating a 19F for marriage in my mind, but there’s one thing I’m unsure about. She’s Muslim, and I lean more towards the Christian faith. I wouldn’t call myself a traditional Christian — I’d say I’m more of a mystic or spiritual Christian. I’m into the spiritual side of things more than the rules and doctrines. We’ve been dating for almost a year now.
We both like each other, and when we do fight about anything, we always manage to resolve it and forgive each other. That’s why I thought maybe we could make it work.
So my question is: is this a deal-breaker in marriage?
I’ve thought maybe we can set certain boundaries about our religious differences, how we communicate, and especially how we raise our children. I’d want them to be free to choose what they believe — whether that’s having a more spiritual and deeper outlook on life in general, or choosing a specific religion like Islam and following its rules.
TL:DR I’m Christian she’s muslim could that strike issues in a long term relationship if we are both mature and healthy?
Has anyone here been in something like this? Can it work long-term?
