So this happened last night in a really busy downtown bar area. Parking was already a nightmare as it was like 12am In a very popular area of the city , I finally find a spot, but when I go to pull in, there’s a girl literally standing in the space trying to “hold” it for someone else (who didn’t even get there for a good 5 or so minutes later)
I roll down my window and tell her “stop being silly , you can’t save a space by standing in it” She immediately snaps back, calling me racist and privileged (for context: I’m white, she was Black, and my girlfriend, who was with me, is dark-skinned Brazilian).
Things escalate because she refuses to move and traffic is backing up. She’s getting way too worked up and rowdy so I just go up to a nearby police officer just to be like bro…help (lady cop thought lol) and of course the girl just gets louder and keeps accusing me of being racist , even to the degree that she claimed I tried to HIT her with my CAR 🤦🏼♂️ More cops show up , at one point there were like 10 of them there because of how much of a scene she was causing
In the end, the cops basically told her she couldn’t block traffic, said I was right to take the spot, and let me park there.
So… AITA here? On one hand, I feel like I was just trying to park and she was being unreasonable. On the other hand, things escalated a lot and I did bring the cops into it.

How many minutes did it take to collect these 10 cops? How big was the traffic back up and for how long?
It wasn’t your fault, but you could have ended it at any time by driving off.
You’re the only one who can tell if all that investment of time by everyone was worth the parking space or if you would have had a better net experience by driving off to find a different spot.

NTA- some people need to learn that screaming, being obnoxious, and calling everyone a racist won’t give you what you want. Nobody buys that shit anymore. Plus she lied and said you tried to hit her? I only wish the cops arrested her or gave her a ticket for false reporting and disturbing the public.
Park carefully in that area of town though, something tells me she’s the type to break out windows and key a car for something like that. Get some dash cams just in case, that way if she does then you can get her thrown in jail and off the streets.
