Most famous living president? Trump or Obama. Most famous from any point in our history? Probably Trump, Obama, Lincoln or FDR. I think it depends, too, on where you are. Like, in east asia Nixon is super well known, but less so for folks like Washington or Jefferson.

After this Presidential term he is on the lips of people all around the world. He said he was going to be the great uniter but I thought he meant of OUR country.
He has united much of the world against us.
There are lots of people in other countries that would have no idea of our earlier presidents.
Washington, but technically Trump maybe. I can imagine some complete dope that couldn’t tell you who the first president was, but knows Trump is in office now.

But most foreigners recongize only Washington and are surprised that someone other than the ultimate founder could be rated as more important,admirable, or American as the famous person who, well, most of his most famed accomplishents occurred before he was president.
So, to me, if you think Washington is the most well-reguarded American president, that tells me you’re a foreigner. An actual American will almost always place Lincoln above, which most foreigners will have no basis to appreciate.
It will always be the current one, but overall, Washington and Lincoln have always been the two I always think of first when I hear the words “US president”
As a Canadian, because of historical reasons I would say worldwide FDR & Kennedy are pretty famous. Not certain that you would show a painting of Washington outside the US and a lot of people would recognize him, let alone being able to name. I guess Lincoln could be recognized but absolutely with his hat. But FDR and Kennedy had so much pictures that are part of the world history that they might get recognized more. Apart of course of who we do not dare to speak his name (as a member of the rest of the planet) but after his terms he will surely be remembered intensively in the collective consciousness for a long long time.
Fun Fact: Lincoln failed at everything he ever attempted before running for office. He failed at being a logger, a grocery store owner and he was just an average country lawyer. His turning point came when he married Mary Todd, the daughter of a wealthy Kentucky slave owner. It was her social connections that make Lincoln The Great Emancipator.
Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt are the top 4 famous president’s in US History.
Those 4 had a major significance in history.
