Not only check her head, but change her sheets and vacuum her mattress and wash and dry her pillow and blankets. You will also need to vacuum every piece of furniture that she sits on including the car. I also recommend drying her hair with a blow dryer set on hot. Lice are the bad (not as bad as bed bugs) and hard to eradicate.
We had an outbreak at our kids school when they were little and I was exhausted by the time we finally got rid of them. It was so bad that they would have all the kids go to the gym to get their heads checked before they let them in the school.
Just keep up on the checking. We found the Robicomb to be the best treatment. Comb through the hair every day for a few weeks. The lice never get old enough to breed and we didn’t have to keep buying expressive shampoos.
Hair up and close to the head. Think French braids, space buns, nothing long and flowy.
Also, do NOT wash hair constantly, but leave in conditioner or spray detangler is your friend. Think of it like monkey bars; clean dry things are easy to grip, but slick things are not.
