Kraft sandwich spread on turkey sandwiches. You know, the green lid that is next to the mayo that no one else seems to buy. Love that stuff

  37. raccoonsaff Avatar

A lot of the food I eat is cheap just because I like it. Value Weetbix Jacket potatoes. Lots of tinned fish. Sandwiches. I like simple meals like a tin of kidney beans, rice, and veg. Value fishfingers are a nice treat. I wouldn’t ever buy the branded version of things like biscuits, milk, tinned tomatoes etc.

As a Canadian, Mac n Cheese by KD is in my veins. I would also continue to eat instant noodles and canned salmon with mayo.

There’s also something about plain white wonder bread and that square fake cheese to make a grilled cheese.

    Rice, beans and tortillas

  68. 616c Avatar

Spaghetti-Os. Sometimes straight from the can with a spork.

We never had it when we were kids. So in my kid-brain, it’s an expensive delicacy. Like underwear that doesn’t have someone else’s initials on the tag.

  70. gilsoo71 Avatar

    Fried chicken. Hell, fried anything.

  71. meowtastic369 Avatar

I’m Mexican, a millionaire, and live amongst the Whole Foods crowd. That being said: refried beans with queso fresco in a tortilla. Also, anything that I had as a kid in terms of Mexican snacks, street food, etc.

There’s a lot of cheap stuff. Cheap pizza is the big one, I don’t need fancy quality. I’ll eat that tostino’s or whatever. Doesn’t matter, you’ll never hear ne complain. Pizza is pizza. I love quality and I can make brick oven pizza in my back yard but I’m always grateful even with the cheap stuff.

  77. Char_toutou_23 Avatar

    KD. Oh frickin Canada.

  78. MrGDPC Avatar

McDonald’s sausage, egg, and cheese mcmuffin. Can’t beat it imo

  82. 00xjOCMD Avatar

Those cheap tough cuts, that cooked right, break down into deliciousness. If I see a pork shoulder/butt on sale, usually $0.99/lb, I make sure to grab at least another one to throw into the 2nd freezer. That’s just good eating if you know what you’re doing.

  83. RedKings1028 Avatar

  88. longtwig Avatar

I still love creamed dried chip beef but that hotdogs in macncheese sounds great

  89. ChefTKO Avatar

They aren’t cheap anymore but I guess lower class would work for this question too?

Chicken wings. Ever since me and beef jerky had to break up #1 is chicken wings.

  90. AdministrativeBank86 Avatar

Beans & sliced hot dogs on buttered toast

  91. backagainlook Avatar

Hamburger helper, I haven’t eaten it in 15 years but honestly it’s good shit

  92. unapologetic1one Avatar

Bread 🍞 and McDonald fries 🍟

  93. _Spastic_ Avatar

    2 lb block of cheese – $9
    50 10 inch flour tortillas – $4
    1 onion – 88 cents
Large can refried beans – $3

$17 and I can make quesadillas or bean and cheese burritos for at least a week.

Grab some taco bell sauce packets and you get fancy! Poverty living life skills.

  109. EngineeringThink4044 Avatar

Taco Bell, I love it and I don’t care about the nutritional value whatsoever. For many years, I was in a career that enabled me to travel for work often, no expenses spared, to some of the nicest hotels and resorts in the US. I’m telling you the number of times I was eating a fancy meal thinking “I wish I was at Taco Bell” is a little appalling. I remember specifically one time sitting on the water’s edge at the Rosewood Miramar in Santa Barbara eating whatever fanciness was being served up and I asked my co-worker if she wanted to have Taco Bell delivered. She agreed and we did.

If I had a million dollars,

We wouldn’t have to eat Kraft Dinner

But we would eat Kraft Dinner

Of course we would, we’d just eat more

And buy really expensive ketchups with it

That’s right, all the fanciest-, Dijon ketchup, mm, mm
