I think dominos makes a perfect pizza and I say this as someone from the northeast. Their pizza isn’t dripping with grease, the toppings don’t fall off when you’re trying to eat it, and the garlic crust is amazing. It may be “fake” pizza but it’s my go to.

Def an unpopular opinion. I’d say it’s king of the big 3, Pizza Hut and Papa John’s being the other two. But I’ll take an ethnically ambiguous guy with greasy hair and a chain who calls you boss and looks like he makes women uncomfortable over Dominos any day of the week.
Dominos is Dominos, it is its own thing. There are good local places and mostly terrible ones. The good ones are phenomenal and have no comparison in a chain place. But take the upvote.
My local places are starting to charge $40 for a large pizza. Sorry but for that money I’m gonna get something with nutrients.

Dominos is definitely my favorite of the big chain brands. Mellow Mushroom being second, because of price. But I have come across hole in the wall places that just hit differently.

They make affordable and adequate pizza. I’ve never regretted eating it, but I’d choose a local shop if money wasn’t an issue.
That really depends on your local pizza places, I think. I’ve certainly been places were local spots were trash, and there, yeah, dominos would be better.
Domino’s is just awful tbh. Pan pie is way too bready, thin crust is still floppy with no crisp. It’s just not good.

Upvoter for sure. I would have to not eat all day before I’d eat Dominos pizza, and even then it would only be one piece and only because someone else brought it… I absolutely love their sandwiches, Parmesan bread bites, and their bone in wings have no business being as good as they are.

That’s generally why fast food is popular. You know generally what you’re getting (mediocre staffing aside). Local places can be entirely hit or miss.
I’ve had some dogshit pizzas from “beloved” local businesses. But I’ve also had much better than fast food pizzas as well.
Fast food is a middle ground where they have decent prices, decent options, and decent consistency.

I understand they now use sauce concentrate and mix it with water, often tap water which explains why some people can be a fan of domino’s in one place vs not so much in another place.
I’ve had Domino’s and after a few slices throw the rest in the trash. A good $5 frozen pizza is better.

I haven’t been to many pizza restaurants, but the few more expensive places I have been to had inferior cheese and sauce compared to dominoes, pizza hut etc, although they often have much better toppings.
Some restaurants are simply inferior to dominoes but others just have different strengths. I recomend you a) keep looking for a good pizza place or b) get new tastebuds, you still have a warranty right?

I would rather eat Little Caesars every day for a week than eat dominos once. Almost every independent shop in the country is better than dominos. The company literally rolled out its CEO to apologize because the cheese tasted like plastic, the sauce was like ketchup, and the crust was like cardboard. That’s how Domino’s described its own product. Granted they rolled out new recipes, but I don’t see a difference.
You are correct. The problem is the majority of independents don’t actually have any quality control, standard process or anything.
Yes there are some great independents but really 80% will be below average to dominoes. They won’t even have a similar base quality
I enjoy Dominos as well. I admit I disgare that it’s ‘better’ than independently owned pizzerias, but I think it has a place to stand amongst them. It’s cheap, thw food is good, and they never dissopoint. It’s never a bad experience, in fact it is mostly pleasurable.
Dominos would still be my go to pizza place if it didn’t make my partner sick every time we got it.
