I 30M need to leave my wife 30F. She is emotionally very hurtful and has manipulated me into staying with her for far too long. We’ve been together 4 years, the last 2 really very bad emotionally including cheating, not listening to ways she hurts me or take accountability, etc.
I think I have a place to stay with family, I just need essentials. Does anyone have advice for me on things I need that might in my go bag or tips to get through the next couple weeks?
I have to just leave with minimal notice and my bag because I feel pretty likely that anything else and I’ll get pulled back in.
What can I do to fill my go bag or be prepared in specific ways or things I may not think of?
TL;DR – I 30M need to divorce my 30F wife. She’s emotionally hurtful and I need a go bag. Need help filling it and trying to leave asap. Timeline is quick, I think I can stay with family

If you haven’t been to the preppers sub, they probably have some advice. Yes, most of their “go bags” are for surviving a zombie apocalypse, but they also have lots of emergency go bags for when you need to leave home due to a hurricane and that kind of thing. A lot of it depends on how long you are going to be gone, and what the circumstances are going to be like where you’re going.
Definitely take important papers, ID’s, stuff like that, anything you can’t replace easily, or would cause you to lose sleep if she destroyed them.
Otherwise, like packing for a vacation, I guess ? Clothes, the usual, all the money.
Seems like resources for battered women leaving their husbands would have suggestions, most of which would probably apply to men, just ignore the feminine hygiene suggestions lol.
The main thing imo is to take anything which is irreplaceable. Sentimental items, etc. Clothes and toiletries can be replaced, so if you have a safe place to stay, just take a couple of days change of clothes unless you have the space for them. And remember that it will be ok, just keep talking to family and friends, and let them support you.
