I Was Fooled by a Redditor

r/

Yeah I know I’m stupid, so I don’t need anyone to tell me how stupid I am, but I gotta get this out of my chest.

So in the last 4 days I’ve been on r/FastSexting cause I was bored and horny and I didn’t want to commit to a serious relationship, and therefore I thought of just having some fun with a stranger online. I saw a F4M post so I went to the girl’s DM, and then I started to talk with her and then she told me that she lives in a city near me by just less than 30 km. I paid the girl some money, and then we moved to telegram to do sexting. Till then, nothing was weird for me (although one could argue that paying for sexting is weird, which I completely understand now, and I’ve learned my lesson). However, things started to go south when I mentioned the possibility of both us meeting and doing the real deed together. She told me that she only meets with dudes who are subscribed to her snapchat and that I got to give her money to have her Snapchat….

I don’t wanna make this post lengthy, but did you get it by now? To make long story short, I spent near 400$ dollars to spend a night with a girl, then she completely ghosted me and blocked me.

Unfortunately I can’t mention her @ because this will break the rules of this subreddit, but I just wanted to get this out of my chest and warn people who talk to strangers for sexting to be really careful about these type of things (DON’T GIVE A SINGLE CENT FOR SEXTING, IT CAN EASILY AND QUICKLY SNOWBALL TO LARGER PAYMENTS AND IF YOU’RE A FOOL LIKE ME, THEN YOU’LL GET NOTHING IN RETURN). I’m really depressed now because I’m a university student and I don’t have a good source of income to compensate for the losses I’ve made in a moment of horniness.

Context: I live in a conservative area where things like casual dating or sex work are illegal. That makes it very hard to meet people in real life, so I turned to online platforms just for some fun. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how easy it would be to get scammed this way.

Now, that losses have happened, and I’ve learned my lesson, what should I do for the money part? Cause I’m really screwed now.

No offense, bro. You should’ve seen this coming. You’re not getting that money back, unfortunately. Just keep your chin up and don’t do it again.

You deserve this. If you can’t spot the biggest sucker in the room, then it’s you.

Take L and don’t the same mistake twice.

Bro. You’re a broke university student who spent $400 to sext some dude pretending to be a girl? This isn’t a moment of horniness, there were multiple points you could have stopped.

I mean, damn, I get being horny on Reddit, shit, that’s the inspo behind my username, but this was just pure stupidity on your part.

Consider this a $400+ lesson learned, that money is gone.

Takes your whole life to live it. Go ahead and check that experience off your list and learn from it.

  8. timpadt Avatar

Yeah bro, there are probably 0.1% actual girls looking to text on sexting reddit posts. Sorry for the massive L, but you learned now. Just go out and meet people. You’re at university. that’s the time to find people to have fun with. Join a club or something.

  9. More_Kissing Avatar

Man whaddya mean casual sex is illegal

  10. vengefulbathwater Avatar

the redditor is probably seeing this post and giggling to themselves. surely if you get scammed in the subreddit you’d be able to expose who they are to protect other people within that subreddit?

I’m not going to tell you how dumb you are, or that you deserve this (whether I believe it or not) multiple people have already said this.

You’re not getting that money back, find a part time job, and seek out counselling, because spending 400 while broke, just to spend the night with some woman is signs of deeper issues.

Sometimes the stupid bitch in your life is you and that’s alright… this ain’t a loss it’s a lesson.

  13. InRainbows123207 Avatar

You don’t need any advice – you learned a lesson you will never forget that is more valuable than anything a stranger can say to you here. Bro you know the money is gone- anyone telling you otherwise is trying to take you on another ride

You literally paid the bakery just to stare at the window. Live and learn, bro.

When I first started reading and it led to “telegram” I immediately thought it was going to be a sextortion case.

In this case, you got very lucky that it wasn’t. Things could’ve gotten much worse.

Basically it’s a common thing to meet a person on a platform and move to telegram for sexting. The “person” will record and threaten to send the video of you pleasuring yourself to your close contacts, unless you give them a large sum of money. And then the blackmail continues for however long they can milk it for..

First of all, don’t ever do that again. Warning people not to give money to strangers online is kind of a “well no shit Sherlock” type thing. You could try door dash or Uber eats or any delivery or ride providing services to make some extra money if you have a car. That’s what I do on top of my normal job. Good luck.

Everyone does something stupid. You learned. You warned other guys with sperm buildup stupidity. I grew up around mainly guys and seen them do stupider things for a slimmer chance. So first, forgive yourself.

Odd jobs are an easy way to make money. Around here, it can be cutting plans, taking leaves, power washing, cleaning cars, basically any chore someone dreads doing.

You may want to look into a low hour job. Does your campus offer work on it? They are more likely to work around your schedule.

Depending on skills, there are many freelance sites where people can hire you for a project.

Basically, if it’s legal and pays, do it until you make up the money and catch up.

How did u send the money? Contact your bank and say you got scammed might be able to recover it

    Might not

Either way don’t send women you don’t know money I’d go further to say don’t send anyone money unless u truly trust them

Anytime I’ve lent money I let my friends borrow it wouldn’t have been the end of me if I don’t get it back… I consider it gone if I give money out (to people close to me including my own baby momma) I have learned the hard way if ur gonna lend or give money consider that it’s not coming back

This is a lesson for sure never send your hard earned money

Don’t bet what you can’t afford to lose…

    gets scammed

    blames conservatives

If there was any doubt I was on Reddit, it’s gone now lol

  20. mdellaterea Avatar

You would be in the same money predicament whether you got laid or not. So falling for a scam was not the problem. Spending money you couldn’t afford to spend either way was the problem.

“I live in a conservative area where things like casual dating and sex work are illegal.”

Its apparently illegal to casual date where he lives. What is this north korea? You are incredibly dumb, I dont mean that offensively.

64m here and well it happens. Your not the first and surely not the last.

So you spent 400 on intertainmant and an education.

You could have gone to a strip clue and spent that much plus drinks.

You could have gone to a casino and spent that much, you would have been better to have gone to the bunny ranch close to Vegas.

Live and learn and some lessons it takes a few tries.

This was years ago , One lady on Facebook tried asking me for money once , she was a hot , from the Philippines . She told me her daughter had cancer and started sending me photos of her daughter under going treatment and what not . Note I did not initiate this conversation, she just added me on Facebook and started texting me . I took one look at her account and saw photos of her and her husband on holiday , the same day she texted me so I knew she’s a scammer .
So I guilt tripped her and told her I’m praying for her daughter everyday and have asked my local church to pray for her as well . I think she felt guilty coz she was Christian too(atleast from her Facebook post) and she said thank you and never texted me again lol .
I’m not particularly good looking so I know something’s off when attractive women text me . Sadly that wasn’t the only time a girl tried to scam me , but I never once fell for it .

  24. EnvironmentEuphoric9 Avatar

It wasn’t a girl most likely. This is a live and learn lesson unfortunately. Next time just jerk it and go to sleep. The internet has free porn! You should think about why you paid for it when you’re broke. That’s something to dig into. Paying for sex, especially when you’re in no position to is insane behavior. This sounds so impulsive and high risk.
