Can I take rental furniture off property as long as I return it by lease end?

I am moving into a home for 9 months and as per the lease the house comes furnished. I both do not want to use their furniture nor do I have the means to rent storage space for the amount of furniture I have. I was told verbally by a friend through the landlord that “things could be removed if needed”. Upon signing the lease we are met with this section that states: “ 2. FURNISHINGS All personal property now upon the premises shall remain at the termination of this rental.
Tenant acknowledges that the appliances have been furnished and are in good working condition and are to remain in the rental upon termination. For safety reasons, the furnishings by Landlord to Tenant of laundry equipment, kitchen appliances or any other apparatuses shall be deemed to be furnished gratuitously. The use of any such laundry equipment, shall be at the risk of the person using same. Neither Landlord nor his agents) or employee(s) shall be liable for any injury to person(s), loss by theft or otherwise, or damage to property resulting from use of such devices. Tenant agrees to turn off and not operate washers, dryers, ovens, and stoves, or other appliances while absent from the premises.”

I was told by the landlord she doesn’t want it moved off property or stored on the balcony but does this section- the only section pretaining to furnishings- give me any leeway to have it taken off property on my own accord provided it is back and in the same condition by the end of the lease?

You’re mincing words here, but “remain” means remain. Not “put back at the termination of this rental” but “remain.”
