Landlord keeping security deposit even though I left the apartment spotless

location: Canada So I just moved out of my apartment and I’m kinda pissed. I spent hours cleaning that place top to bottom scrubbed the bathroom, vacuumed everything even patched up a couple little nail holes. Honestly it looked better than when I first moved in. Now the landlord’s saying they’re keeping most of my deposit for cleaning and minor repairs. Like… what? There was literally nothing to fix feels like they’re just keeping it because they can. I don’t want to just hand over all that money for nothing I’d rather use it for stuff I actually enjoy, like playing or just buying something I want. is anyone else had this happen did you fight it or just take the L?
