Scooby Doo is the best Kraft Mac and cheese flavor, followed by spirals

texture influences taste, I’ll die on the hill that pasta shapes matter

Typically shape differences also come with texture and/or thickness variances as well.

Italian here. Different pasta does change the flavor since certain types are more suited for different sauces. Like angel hair is better with oily sauces. If you use it with a thicker meat sauce, it would be too rich (you want flat noodles here). Orzo is better with soups. If you were to put fettuccine in the same soup, it would taste bland cause it can’t hold the flavor as well.

Obviously the pasta itself doesn’t change flavor, but the way it holds the sauce is what’s important.

The shape of pasta 100% influences the taste of a dish. This boy’s been eating too much plain spaghetti and assuming he knows pasta.

Different shapes give you different sauce:pasta ratio and hold different types of sauce differently, so yes it does change the flavor.

They have different texture too but I’m not going to debate on whether “texture” counts as “flavour”, when “doesn’t change the flavor” is already objectively wrong because a mouthful that’s 90% noodle and 10% sauce doesn’t taste the same as 50/50 or any other ratio you get from using different noodle shapes.

Changing pasta shapes is like putting on different outfits. Same deliciousness, just varying levels of sass on the dinner table.

It absolutely changes the flavor. Only crazy people mix leftover noodles

Some pastas are more adept at holding sauces.

Pasta itself has taste and thicker pasta has more of that taste.

facts, like spaghetti and penne could have the exact same sauce but the whole vibe of the meal changes just because of the shape. pasta shapes really do a lot of heavy lifting without anyone noticing

So true! If I switch from spaghetti to penne, suddenly I’m a gourmet chef whipping up a fancy dish instead of just boiling pasta.

It changes a lot. The thickness of it changes and the texture changes and the shape makes it hold different amounts of sauce. My favorite is the wheel one, but the seashell is pretty good as well.

It can change the taste. A bite with a thicker noodle will taste more like the noodle because there is more noodle and less sauce in your mouth

Penne with marinara sauce tastes WAY different than spaghetti with marinara sauce. The pasta shape does change the flavor because of texture and the way it holds the sauce.

Try making macaroni cheese with spaghetti noodles, that shit tastes weird.

Different pasta are made with different quantities of each ingredient, so they could have a different taste because of that

different shapes hold different sauces better
