I have to break it to you, but we’re way pass the point of slowing it down. Now we’re at the “deal with consequences” part. Maybe things look fine in your part of the world but my home country has been dealing with massive storm for several years now.

There are still plenty of ways to combat our global emissions crisis, even if 2020 would have been a more effective time to do so. Also, with everyone locked inside and unable to travel, it was inevitable that the delivery industry (and power generation and international trade in general) would have expanded massively.

Even if it feels impossible, with most of the world’s carbon output being produced by a few select companies and governments, it’s not over until it’s over. We can still make a limited impact with our eating and waste choices, we can vote for better legislation and waste management and we can pressure governments with protest to try and push incremental change.

It’s not much, but if it’s all we can do then we should do it.
