“Ugryź” – which means “bite” in Polish.

You’re  trying to escape from a dog running after you and you hear his owner shout ” Bite! Bite!”

Medicine is always fun. I, for example, own a Zyrtec (black Belgian shepherd).

Not necessarily unusual, but I’ve noticed that a lot of people name their orange cats after orange or yellow foods (list translated into English):

    • Caramel
    • Tangerine
    • Ginger
    • Biscuit
    • Cheddar
    • Pufulete (Romanian snack similar to Cheetos)

My cat’s name is Meatball, but I will call him Keftedaki Mou because it’s important for him to know a little bit of Greek.

A lot of people have started giving pets Irish (Irish language) names.

A big one is cú, which means hound. It would be like calling a dog, mutt or something.

A funny one, though, is a woman I know had a cat. The husband started calling the cat ċunt-lofa meaning rotten cunt and the cat started responding to the name and it stuck 🤣

We adopted a dog called “Pitt”. The day I picked him up a dog looking like him (and I thought it was him) came up to me and asked for pets and snuggles. Turned out it was our dog’s twin brother named “Brad”. He was awesome but our boi came asking to be safe and we immediately fell in love with him

We’re still in contact with Brad’s adopters, telling them we’d love to adopt Brad as well (Pitt is our sweetheart for 2.5 years now) but unfortunately he is a goodest boi as well and they’ll never give him away.

But it would make my day to call them both on a walk…..

Peachbutt, but my daughter was embarrassed so I used Peaches in public.

    I know a cat that’s called „Bösch“.
It’s actually a surname; in German it sounds kind of funny: “Da kommt der Bösch!”(Here comes Bösch).

One of my cats is named the local version of Little Engine, for her purr. The word is masculine in Slovene, which confuses people to no end.

The other is named Brix, because she’s black and we used to have a black couch. When she lay on it. all you could see were her orange eyes, and also when you see it, you’ll shit bricks. Yes, I’m old. Her eyes lost most of their orange color when she grew up (they are standard green now, except in certain light), so the first part got lost. She’s also large for a female cat (about 6,5 kg now that she’s a healthy weight, she used to be about 8), so again, people keep referring to her as male.
