People blame the internet for replacing interpersonal relationships and adding to the mental health crises, but it’s actually because we are more connected now than ever. If we had as much access to Uncle George’s thoughts in the 60s, 70s, and 80s as we do now we’d probably think he was pretty vile. If you plopped the internet down into the 60s I don’t think life would seem less hopeless than it does today. I’m basically blaming people for all our problems. The internet didn’t do anything to us except make us hyper aware of EVERYTHING. It put the most intense microscope into all of our brains and uploaded it for all to see.
