I have tinnitus and it’s never been a trigger for mine, idk if i’m a unique case or if thats common, if it’s the latter why add it in games?

To reduce tinnitus sounds.
As someone who developed tinnitus after a car accident, I actually appreciate this option even though it doesn’t trigger mine. My audiologist explained that certain high-pitched frequencies in games can worsen symptoms for some people. It’s like how some folks get migraines from specific light patterns while others don’t.
Glad you mentioned this option. Will try.
It’s a feature that’s very useful for people like my brother-in-law, who has hyperacousis and basically this makes high pitched sounds very painful for him.
I also have sensitive hearing, and tinnitus sounds can be incredibly physically uncomfortable.
But it’s good, like you say, for people who also are triggered by tinnitus sounds too 🙂
I have tinnitus and tbh I’m not sure what the “trigger” is – I think it’s there all the time but sometimes I just stop noticing it. I will definitely try out the “Reduce” option on games now if I can find it! Thanks for the post!
