I remember when I was in primary school on the last day of term we could all wear our own clothes and bring in board games to play. We would also watch a film.
Do schools still do this?

I teach overseas but yes, sometimes I will schedule in a game or movie day due to the yearly scheduling which I have little control over.
It’s not that I don’t want to teach a class or that I’m hungover (usually…) It’s more that I can’t fairly do anything substantial with one class that may affect their exam results when I don’t have the right number of lessons to do the same material with another class.
As the classes are all graded against each other, this becomes very important.
There is some lesson trading that goes on behind the scenes with different subjects. But sometimes, you just have to say fuck it, 3A are getting a video and a busy-work handout today while 4C are getting a class game tomorrow.
At my school it was alway Neil Diamonds The Jazz Singer ….. It’s the only reason why I despise anything to do with him.
