I was attacked by a drop bear when I was a kid AMA

r/

So many Americans don’t even know what a drop bear is. Drop bears are extremely common in Australia. They are killer koalas that try and rip your face off. But in the 1970s when I was a kid we had a massive outbreak of them I was attacked and had to go to hospital for two months.

I call bullshit, drop bears don’t leave survivors.

Are there genuinely aggressive koalas you have to watch out for in Australia?

Omg wooow that must’ve been so traumatizing! Did you see it or was it just a blur of teeth and fur??? My condolences for your suffering. How scary, a killer koala! 😱🫣

Can you get chlamydia from drop bears like you can from Koalas?

Bros go to Google, search drop bear and click on the orange hazard looking icon. You’re welcome

Is it true that smearing Vegemite on your head and shoulders can act as a deterrent?

I’m younger, so I never got drop bears. I don’t even see koalas anymore 🙁

What did the vicious killer drop bear sound like as it viciously attacked you?

Kiwi here. If a drop bear went up against one of our spiders (the kind we use in our fry ups), which one would come out alive?

There’s a small colony of drop bears in Puhoi north of Auckland. Ask any locals at the Puhoi pub, some even have scars to show
