AITA?
I booked a manicure and pedicure appointment at a nail salon. During my service someone came in as a walk in and waited for an available tech to do her nails. Halfway through my manicure the girl working on my nails tells me in a minute she will be going to do walk in girl’s eyebrow wax once the other tech is done her nails and it will only take “2 minutes”.
I thought it was weird. She didn’t come back until over 10 minutes later. She was late even starting my appointment (I was first client of the day and arrived on time) and by this point I had been there almost 2 hours and was starting to run out of time. So when she got back I told her I didn’t have time for nail art now, only do colour and that I had to go pick my child up soon. She tried to argue that it wouldn’t take long and I told her no sorry I have to go. She rushed through the rest of my nails, bitched at the tech beside her the whole time and was bitchy to me the rest of the service.
I feel really pissed off by the whole thing and like I’m not a valued client. Why should MY appointment be interrupted for a last minute walk in client? I pre booked. That time is mine. Walk in client should have been told to wait until after my nails were finished. She also didn’t even ask if that’s okay just told me it’s happening.
I messaged the owner asking if this was normal practice for their salon and I’ve been left on read.
Am I the asshole?

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the asshole:
> 1. Telling the tech that I did not have time for nail art because she took 10 minutes out of my appointment
2. Tech thinks its normal to take walk in clients during an appointment and maybe I should have booked the whole day to stay in the salon

Nta and the salon is the AH 100%.
Don’t go back
NTA. This sort of thing happens when an organization is short staffed but they try to squeeze everyone in without thinking through how it messes up the schedule.
You’re lucky that “two minutes” turn into just 10; I’ve experienced it become half an hour or more. They’re lucky that you didn’t walk out.
YTA. Check your attitude. If you have a time crunch, let your tech know. If there is a timing issue, communicate it. You had multiple opportunities to stop this from going sideways but instead you just got mad and said nothing.
NTA at all, I’d never give them my business again and probably leave a review that states “prioritizes walk ins over scheduled clients”
NTA. Time to find another salon. This one doesn’t value your business or act professionally and that’s not going to change no matter how upset you get. Vote with your feet.
