My partner (28M) insists on sleeping next to me while I’m sick with the flu… but where’s the limit?

r/

I (27F) have been down with the flu for the past few days: fever, cough, sweats, and a nose that won’t stop running. I feel awful, and I figured my boyfriend (28M) of 4 years would want to avoid catching it.

But no. He insists on sleeping in the same bed, saying he doesn’t care if he gets sick because “love conquers all.”

At first I thought it was really sweet, but then I started wondering: where’s the actual limit to this kind of devotion?
Like, flu? Okay, maybe that’s manageable.
Norovirus? Would he still want to cuddle while we’re both taking turns running to the bathroom?
Pink eye? Would he really want to risk waking up with his eyelids glued shut too?

I’m honestly curious: do most couples keep sharing a bed when one person is sick, or is it normal to set boundaries? I love that he wants to stay close, but part of me wonders if it’s actually reckless instead of romantic.

My question is: would you (or do you) share a bed with your partner when they’re sick? How did it turn out?

TL;DR:
I (27F) have the flu, but my boyfriend (28M, together 4 years) insists on still sleeping in the same bed. It made me wonder: where’s the line between sweet and reckless? Would you share a bed with your partner while they’re sick?

    I guess if he doesn’t care… but I think it’s a little weird. I wouldn’t do it.

My ex. I show her how much I loved her by sleeping by her side when she was sick with the flu. I got sick but I recovered faster than her. We do crazy things for the people we love.
