Hello. So my brother had a jury trial and he was the defendant and represented himself. There was a male and a female bailiff and basically the entire trial they were texting each other and would giggle. One time even laughed with the prosecutor. They were doing this in the middle of my brother’s and everyone’s testimony. And the judge didn’t do anything about it. I feel that he did not receive a fair trial and the court personnel making fun of him not treating him more professionally put immediate bias on the jury. I saw this similar story. What should I do?

definitely get him an attorney and press for a mistrial. especially if you have video proof of it happening
Your brother didn’t have a fair trial because he chose to represent himself instead of accepting representation from a public defender or hiring his own private attorney. Pro se defendants have little to no chance of winning a jury trial against trained prosecutors.
