Back then I used to catch lizards all the time (still do actually) but I didn’t quite know how fragile the babies were. I caught a baby lizard and was inspecting it, when it just died from stress ToT I left it on the table for a while to see if it was really dead, before eventually just picking it up and feeding it to a pitcher plant. I guess that lizard went somewhere that’s green…

havent caught a baby lizard since tho. Now I just catch the adults. I don’t wanna kill a lizard again, let alone a baby 🙁

Stress is a major killer for rescue animals. Don’t beat yourself up about it. You didn’t know and the fact you’re so haunted by it proves you learned from the experience. You can maybe volunteer at some wildlife or animal rescues to make it up to the lil guy if you need to
Lizards can go into tonic immobility when severely stressed and they appear dead. .
I am glad you won’t do that again. They really can be emotionally sensitive creatures despite their appearance.
I mean… I’m sure that pitcher plant enjoyed the delicacy
