DAE feel as though there is no time for marriage / kids?

r/

The thing is I don’t have a very busy schedule. Most of my days are spent at home after work. My job isn’t very demanding. My relationships are kind of low maintenance but when I hear that someone my age (29) is getting married or is pregnant, I’m kind of perplexed. It just feels like 80 years of life – more like 50 years if you’re 30, isn’t that long…certainly not long enough to raise new human beings. Why does it feel like this?

Being the eldest and had to baby sit 2 brothers growing up in a poor household will really change my perspective. I am enjoying my free time, yes I am still a poor bastard but I can just sit back and relax at the end of the day.

Yes!!! The human lifespan should be like 150 decent years. First 70 or 80 to figure yourself out, start a business, hobbies etc. Then have kids after that!

So why do you feel you have “no time” for marriage or kids? Sounds like you have plenty of time. You just don’t want to marry or have kids.

People who marry or want kids make it a priority and they find the time. To many, family is a happiness that’s incomparable.

I can relate. I have too many hobbies, friends, travels, thing to do to keep me busy for the next 50 years. I’m 30 too. I want to buy land and grow my own food. I’m going to Alaska for 6 weeks this summer. Who the hell has time for kids? I got way too much I need to do! This is all on top of my everyday work, chores, going to the gym. There’s not enough time in the day.
