Ima applying to police department and I have military experience though my military time was cut short due to personal reasons but my discharge is honorable, I worked at a tribal agency for 3 months but resigned due to pay issue with the tribe and the 1 and 30 minute commute everyday. I want to know why i keep getting non selected like all I want is to be a police officer. I not here to whine but ask for tips from actual officers
How can I be a better candidate?
I’m doing everything in my power. I don’t plan on giving up either. But so far I been non selected from two departments
I dressed in a suit and tie did my virtual interview through teams, which was a little weird compared to doing the panels with the Tribal Police. I was honest why I got out the military early. I didn’t ask any dumb questions. I just want to know what can I do better
What am I doing wrong I keep getting non selected

None of us have any idea why you aren’t getting picked.
It could be something in your background or you could be bad at interviews or your test scores aren’t great or you’re in bad shape or you’re not passing the psych or whatever.
It could be the military thing depending on the circumstances and what the “personal reasons” your service were cut short were.
The discharge was “honorable” or “general under honorable?”
It’s probably because of why you left the military. That was one of my hicups until I self sponsored myself thru a police academy.
I would take a look at your own comment history and it will explain itself. The other thing is what you tell us and what actually happened could be a discrepancy. If you lie, you’re pretty much considered untrustworthy. Departments pretty much can relay any information to other departments too. It’s the equivalent of a garrity list. Only you will know if you were honest.
Only other thing I can think of is your social media drew red flags.
Just a stab in the dark, but you don’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed there big dog.
What was his Reddit history? I’m dying to know now.
