I used to go on r/AskReddit because I LIKED IT, hell I LOVED IT

We have politics subs for that.
They want to feel dopamine by looking at others agree with their political views, because they’re insane and tie their happiness with things they have zero control over.
My answer is always the same. We elected a clown, this is exactly the circus I expected.
Post more interesting shit and engage with other topics. I’d love to see other topics but they aren’t being posted or engaged with nearly as much so the political topics get all the attention

I feel like reddit is a far left, confused, brainwashed, Godless cesspool and it truly saddens me 🙁
It seems to me that many of these posts aren’t really genuine in their intent. There are a few op’s that are actually interested the responses to their question. But, there are also those who pose questions simply to elicit a dog-pile/bandwagon response. I’m not sure of the motive behind their questions. But, I do believe that some op’s are just “karma farming”, hoping to get as many upvotes as possible, and could not care less about the actual question.
I figure Americans can’t afford therapy so this is as close as they’re gonna get to mental health for the next few years…
It’s annoying, but there’s also not much else on Earth right more affecting than this. Just have to ride it out like everything else. BUT getting annoyed and bored with it as a story is exactly what Trump and Project 2025 want to happen.
I’m surprised so many of them are in opposition to Trump. it tells me that the majority of reddit members are intelligent and ethical humans.

It is annoying. I see it as irrelevant karma farming. Maybe it’s a set of shit pollsters trying to find another way to get numbers. However, I am tired of seeing subreddits flooded with crap about the Orange man everytime he breathes. Even the ones that have rules stating “No politics”. Find something else to complain about. I don’t care anymore about it. I am tired of seeing it over and over and over again.
Hate it and will unsub if this isn’t controlled. There are hundreds of political subs, go use those.
I’ve also learned the vast, vast majority of political panics turn out to be absolutely nothing. I’ve decided to wait a week before reacting to any national news and focus on things I can control instead.
It’s extremely annoying and feels like an obvious attempt to grab karma, especially with the questions worded to provoke outrage or lead to a certain answer.
I can’t stand Trump or MAGA, but I don’t need to read about it here. I come to AskReddit for the funny and the silly, but it’s nearly wholly being pushed out by fury.

I remember when I was new to Reddit, I learned about a celebrity death and naively rushed to make an Askreddit thread about it, not realizing it was already everywhere on Reddit including an askreddit megathread. I feel like that’s what we’re seeing here. People learn crazy news and want the prestige of being the one to bring it to Reddit’s mass consciousness.
Or they’re karma farming. Who knows?

As someone not living in america, I find it pretty interesting to her peoples views from the inside as the nation turns from freedom loving america, to nazi america.
This is real time history in the making. These people might be dead or missing in 10 years after their government closes in on them.

I am also expecting the US to try and silence these questions and posts. We have already heard of the US trying to get reddit mods to cooporate with their wishes.

Politics keeps finding its way into all of them, and worse yet, the clowns who I thought shared my interests keep upvoting and engaging with it, so it won’t go away.
