Adding it into my condiments rotation would mean replacing something actually good.

    Is your Pikachu’s HP low?

  3. FlappyClap Avatar

It’s available at major chain stores, I believe. It’s just called HP Sauce though.

  4. SnooRadishes7189 Avatar

Try A1 sauce. It is usually called steak sauce.

  5. DrGerbal Avatar

Not a restaurants. But yall do t got sweet tea. So that’s a fair trade off

  6. furie1335 Avatar

They have it in stop and shop. My mother uses it

  7. mugwhyrt Avatar

It’s not very common, but I think you can get it some places because I do know what it is. A1 Sauce might be the closest alternative, but I’ve never actually had HP so I can’t say for sure.

  8. CinemaSideBySides Avatar

It’s available at my local grocery store. I’d guess most major grocery stores carry it, either amidst the billion sauces/condiments or on the UK/International shelf most places have.

I’ve never had it and I don’t know what it is. “HP” and “Brown” aren’t super descriptive.

  9. thatsad_guy Avatar

What is “brown sauce” to you? Because I can think of a few sauces that are brown.

  10. corneliusvancornell Avatar

The most common brand of brown sauce in the U.S. is A1, but we don’t call it “brown sauce”—it’s marketed as “steak sauce.” Some restaurants will also have Heinz 57, which is also a “steak sauce” but much lighter in color.

  11. huhwhat90 Avatar

It can be found at Publix, but it’s not common here.

HP is in basically every American grocery store.

I had a lot of brown sauce when I was in Scotland. Spent a lot of time around Dunkeld. I was a fan I should see if I can find it here.

  14. sto_brohammed Avatar

We have many sauces that are brown.

  15. Redbubble89 Avatar

We have A1 which is more popular. Heinz 57 is close in profile. HP sauce is in the international aisle of grocery stores and a handful of British bakeries in some places. We can get it but it’s not nearly as popular. I only know one place in my county to get a sausage roll. We don’t have Greggs and if you say pie to an American, they think it’s a desert fruit pie. That’s why some think you’re asking about hit points instead of house of parliament.

  16. ketamineburner Avatar

I had to Google it, but my local grocery store has it in isle 13 for $8.99

  17. Historical-Composer2 Avatar

A1 sauce would be our equivalent.

  18. 9for9 Avatar

We have a lot of sauces. What the hell is brown?

  19. AdelleDeWitt Avatar

No, our equivalent sauces would be like steak sauce. I have tried brown sauce it but do not like it. Too vinegary. I also find American ketchup to be less vinegary. The UK likes vinegar more than I do.

  20. AdInevitable2695 Avatar

We have brown sauce here! It’s called steak sauce in the states. The most common brand is A1, which as far as I can tell from Google (as I have no access to HP sauce), the only major difference between the two is HP sauce has dates and tamarind whereas A1 sauce uses raisins and oranges.

  21. Milehighcarson Avatar

They have it at Publix. Kroger used to have it but I think they’ve stopped stocking it

  22. TillPsychological351 Avatar

HP is available in the US. Usually in the “international aisle”, and the small section on the shelf with British products.

  23. j_tonks Avatar

Nope. Just tried it two weeks ago in Ireland and I’m not surprised it didn’t catch on here. It wasn’t good.

  24. jessper17 Avatar

I can buy it at my local grocery store. I find it a little too sweet for my liking.

  26. ButItSaysOnline Avatar

I don’t know what you mean by HP or brown sauce so I guess the answer is no.

  27. Cheap_Coffee Avatar

Check the international section of the grocery store, if they have one.

  28. geekygirl25 Avatar

As an American, I’ve ever heard of hp or brown sauce. What wouldyou put it on?

  29. RespectableBloke69 Avatar

HP is extremely British. It has Big Ben on the label. Are you really that surprised?

  30. CaptainMalForever Avatar

HP is not common here. We have A1 sauce, which is actually the original brown sauce, so I’m not sure why we have one but not the other. It seems that HP is sweeter than A1, but I’ve never had HP, so I can’t say for sure.

  31. ZevVeli Avatar

So I looked it up: HP sauce is a brown sauce made with tomatoes, vinegar, and molasses.

Honestly? Sounds like a crossbreed between North Carolina and Okalahoma Barbecue sauces. (Only with Molasses instead of brown sugar, but that’s actually a really minor difference all things considered.)
