I think I have cancer

r/

I noticed a painful lump on boob this Sunday. I tried to brush it off as me sleeping in a bad position causing swelling and whatnot. But it’s getting harder to deny that awful possibility, since the lump is rapidly growing, causing discoloration and changing my skins texture. I feel so hopeless, I’m a student with no medical aid. I’m scared of telling my family or doctor because this is just too much to take in. Today I nearly fainted in public and I feel so embarrassed. Why is my body deteriorating so quickly? I’m still grieving my mom who recently passed on, why can’t I catch a break? I hope its some lightweight disease with similar symptoms to cancer. I still don’t know how to tell my family, I know their gonna be mad at me for not speaking up as soon as things started going wrong.

Is there no free clinic where you live? What about planned parenthood? Go get it checked out it might not be cancer but if it is time is of the essence.

I know you have to be feeling so many things on top of your grief, fear, pain possibly, a lot of stress but try and make that appointment, you need it now dear. I hope it’s nothing crazy but would love to be updated if you have the time to in the future. And you will always find support in the people who love you so don’t worry about not telling them yet, just tell them once you get your breath

Right now, you are suffering stress as well as pain due to the fear of the unknown/fear of a possibility. There are many benign explanations but even the worse explanations have better outcomes the earlier you are diagnosed. Go get tested and once you know what you are dealing with you will find the next step forward.

Just as a side question – it the area hot to touch? Rapid and painful swelling like this could be an infection or blocked duct. There’s a lot of soft tissue in the area.

You are still grieving and this also plays tricks with how you process information.

Figure out what you’re dealing with and take it from there. One step at a time.
