Do you count by how many times you went to the bathroom to throw up? Or do you count by the amount of times you physically expelled vomit out of your mouth?
For example, I went into the bathroom once and vomited a total of 5 times in that one session ( within one or two minutes). Would you call that one time or five times?
Asking to resolve a dispute

That would be 5 times
one time.
I would say that’s one time. It’s one vomiting session that’s been triggered.
Go back to bed. Feel sick again. Get up, vomit. That’s the second time.
And so on.
That’s how it do it. I could the episodes rather than each individual expulsion.
By “Asking to resolve a dispute”, do you mean that you are having a contest with someone?
If you’re only in there for a minute or two, I’d count that as 1. If you’re camped in there, I’d count the individuals.
Think of it the way you think of pooping. Do you say that you pooped three times if you dropped three turds or do you say you pooped once because you made one trip to the bathroom? I think the vast majority would agree that it is the latter.
Five times. Even the questions says so – it’s not how many times you went to the bathroom, it’s how many times you physically vomited. Obviously there should be some pause in between though, few secs at least. But yes, I’d count it as five times.
That’s one time
Vomiting episodes should each count as a separate incident, regardless of bathroom trips. So if you’re in there once but puke five times, it’s still 5 episodes. Focus on the act itself, not just your trips
I think most people get this right, each expulsion counts individually
Think of it as cycles. You go to the bathroom and vomit until you finish that cycle. That counts as once. When the next wave of nausea hits and you have to vomit that counts as twice. You don’t count each time you wretch and bring something up.
Too many to count honestly
consider that it would be medically relevant to include how many times you vomited in a single visit to the bathroom, especially if you were trying to convey how ill you are to a doctor
if you have five individual heaves which each produce material with a few moments of breathing in between then i would say “i threw up several times” and not just “i threw up once”
if you have one extended heave during which you can barely force yourself to get a breath in and you immediately continue heaving then i would consider that a single, violent vomit despite the break for the breath/gasp of air
One trip is one vomit, even if it’s in waves. Your body knows it’s gotta breathe, so it throws in those short pauses
I think the proper way is to throw up on a kitchen scale, and give the amount in gramms

I have not vomited in probably 20+ years.
It’s 5 times.
The question is how many times you went in the bathroom to vomit, it’s how many times did you have emesis.
You don’t count that.
