I feel so disgusted with myself because my screen time has been averaging 8 hours a day??? I have a full time job. And a second full time job watching TikTok, browsing reddit, and general doom scrolling apparently.
Please save me lmao

I got rid of tiktok the beginning of this year. It’s been swapped out for reading, slightly more video games, going for more walks, and just accepting sometimes I’m going to be bored.
Appblocker app on Strict Mode is the only thing saving me from myself 😌
Practice makes perfect.
Intentionally tell
Yourself you won’t look at it for 20 mins and keep yourself busy without it.
Find something to keep your hands busy and put your phone in another room.
Keep you phone Facebook when it’s around you.
Turn off notifications for social media and other useless but addicting apps.
Remind yourself and practice practice practice.
I’m a recovering phone addict and some days are good and some days I’m doom scrolling but reminding myself to be on it less has made a difference.
Put my phone in another room and forget about it honestly. Outta sight outta mind type thing. Put the ringer on super high if ur that worried about missing someone’s call. I find it toxic to be around, even my kids started asking to use it! Gross 🤮.
I just looked at mine and I’m not too mad. 1-1.5 hours on Reddit. 1 hour of that is all of my breaks at work. 1 hour on Facebook scrolling through videos. 4-5 hours on YouTube, that’s listening to videos while I cook or drive. And then or little less than 30min-1 hr things. It makes sense.
start by setting phone limits or using apps to track screen time. Find new hobbies like reading or working out to fill the gaps
Hobbies, social activities, exercising, DIY, courses, even sitting playing a game or watching a film.
Literally anything you think might enrich you’re life in some way. If you’ve ever thought “aww man I wish I could learn some real authentic Italian cooking” or “how does she do a handstand like that, it would be so cool to do that” follow those thoughts.
Id also just delete your worst offenders for doomscrolling. They’ll still be there if you want to engage with them again. You’re not losing anything by stepping off it a few weeks

I kinda do the same. I try to color to keep me off my phone so much. For me, since I’ve been active on my reddit account again, I’m on here more than anything else. It’s a good alternative to Facebook lol
Take up a creative hobby! I recently started sculpting with polymer clay. When I’m bored, I start a new project. Sculpting keeps my hands busy, requires my full attention, and takes up time that I would otherwise spend doomscrolling.
I have crafting hobbies that preclude me from holding or looking at my phone. I listen to books while I’m doing it (and chores) though and I use the accessibility reader so my screen time hits 12-13 hours anyway 🥲
Reading helps me! I gave myself a reading goal
