Ugh.
I went to a protest yesterday (as did many) because I’m concerned about a few things. A reporter asked me why I was there and I said the three things I’d prepared. Public lands, tariffs effecting agriculture, and our local social security office closing. I got misquoted and sound like a complete idiot.
How do I live through this embarrassment.

You write the paper and clarify your position. If you do it as a letter to the editor you may get published
Tell them youve spoken to your lawyer and ask them to make an edit and republish as they intentionally misquoted you
You can ask for a correction but this is also a great lesson about the media and how they report things vs what is actually said.
