Which do you recommend; Pickleball or Golf?

Recently retired 67M. Healthy and active lifestyle. Wife has no interest in either sport. I’m looking to forge friendships in a new group AND get some quality exercise.

Golf it is then – do a course and best case you have a new regular friend’s group.

Definitely pickleball. Better exercise, faster, less expensive.

I don’t play either but I’ve spent time around people who play one or the other. I think you’ll get healthier friendships and better exercise playing pickleball.

If you want to get good at just one, golf you can play for damn near ever.

My dad is turning 80, can’t walk far can’t run can’t jump…. but he can still play golf with his friends twice a week.

I would try both. Pickleball is a lot cheaper and easier to get into. If you played any racket sport before you can just start playing. Golf is more of a challenge, easier for some than for others. Take a course for sure.
No reason you can’t do pickleball on Monday and golf on Thursday.

Try pickleball first since it’s cheap. It’s good exercise, but it will be hard on your joints.

Golf is a timeless sport that you can enjoy with friends or on your own. It’s easy on your body. It’s far more complex than pickleball to the point that you can’t compare them. That said, starting golf at age 67 might be frustrating.

Anecdotally, a really high percentage of people I know who have played pickleball for a while have been injured. Might want to factor that in.

If you don’t want to injure yourself, golf. If you want to blow out a knee pickleball

Pickleball will be cheaper for sure and you’ll get more exercise. Golf is only exercise if you play without a cart and even then it’s mostly just walking.

Golf is fun but also really frustrating especially at first, but you can play it solo.

Whichever one you enjoy more. Try each.
