Why does it sometimes burn after I ejaculate and pee but gets fixed in 5-10 minutes when I use eyedrops?

r/

I’m a teenager and I’ve never had sex, so I’m sure this isn’t an STD. But sometimes — not every day, maybe once every 2-3 days — I feel a burning sensation in my urethra when I urinate after I ejaculate through masturbation. Occasionally, it even burns during ejaculation. It usually goes away 5-10 minutes later when I apply ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin eye drops to the tip of the urethra, but I’m starting to get worried. Why might this be happening?

I think this discussion is better off being had with a healthcare professional. The helpful folks of the internet can only speculate so much, and it will never be fully accurate.

I think EYE drops are not for the one-eyed willy

Your eyes are connected to your peepee?

UTIs can become kidney inflections which require hospitalization. You don’t want to mess around with this no matter what the internet says. Please go to a doctor.

Eye drops are designed for your eyes. Not sure what’s in that stuff but I wouldn’t use it there

    Do not selfmedicate.
    Please see a doctor.
A long term UTI can cause serious damage.

    1. Drink more water.

    2. Stop putting eye drops in your dick. Stop. Just stop.

    3. See a Dr.

People are saying to see a doctor but… I am pretty sure this can be normal. I thought I saw an explanation that is essentially that there is a mucus like lining in the urethra, and it can get cleared out, especially during ejaculation, and if you pee right afterwards, the acidity of the urine can cause discomfort. It goes away when the lining returns.

Never a bad idea to see a dr though, and also probably not use eye drops down there unless said doctor says to.

I’ve had a similar thing happen and couldn’t find an answer for years until I saw another Reddit post asking the same thing.

One commenter said it was a pH thing. Semen is basic while urine is slightly more acidic so the burning sensation is when those two interact. Use the bathroom before ejaculation so it has time to neutralize the pH. I haven’t experienced it since.

Please go to the doctor and maybe pee in a cup. My Dad waltzed around with a UTI too long and almost killed himself.

I’m just gonna ignore the eye drop part and ask: are you using soap during your session. When you use soap as a lubricant, it can cause pain the next time you pee. Not sure why, probably the soap getting into the urethra and causing irritation.

Ok, that’s enough Internet for the day I think.

Fucking eye drops, sweet mother of Jesus….

See a doctor. It’s probably an easy-to fix infection. But don’t trust medical advice from strangers.

    See a doctor.

I had a similar issue and I found it happens most when I masturbate and have to kinda pee. Pee first then crank it

I’d bet money it’s the product/lubricant your using during, unless your going dry and your uncircumcised.
