This country is so weird. It paints itself as Anti American Imperialism and that it allies with China & Russia. But it’s president it’s so afraid of losing the power that fulfills all of the U.S whims and also the economy of this country relies heavily in the U.S
They likely joined because of some promised benefit from nations like Qatar or Russia/China/Iran, ended up not receiving it.
And now they’re facing costs from Western-allied powers, and decided to not continue.
Either way, the entire time I didn’t see Nicaragua do anything on the case, in terms of legal or diplomatic work. They joined for pure anti-Western showmanship.
Ortega’s regime are bunch of spineless cowards that go where the money goes. They left Taiwan after years of millionaire donations and sold their ass to Beijing but everyone knows that despite Ortega being a polital whore, he knows not to rattle the Us hornet nest.
Back in 2018 whe the country was literally on the brink of a full blown Civil war( it didn’t get to that point because the civilians can’t get access to weapons and were basically fight with mortars, slingshot, and makeshift weapons against Fn, dragunovs, and M16’s) he went to bend the knee on fox News cuz he was afraid that the Us was going to intervene in some shape or form but aside from sanctions, the Us was relatively uninvolved

That’s a extremely weird decision from Nicaragua given that the country presents itself as anti-American.
On the other hand, the genocide accusations hold no water at all, I doubt Nicaragua had a pragmatic change of mind regarding that.
