I saw a clip of Stalin celebrating his 70th birthday in 1949 when in reality he was 71 years old there and was born in 1878. Could it have been forging fake documents because of his history of criminal activity and arrests such as raiding banks. Unfortunately I can’t find an answer on google.

Stalin was a revolutionary operating under aliases (he used dozens), and he frequently changed details about himself. Historians also suggest he may have been trying to reinvent himself. He was also a scoundrel of the first magnitude and a conniving, dishonest person and a common criminal (he committed armed robbery of banks to finance the Bolsheviks and no doubt to line his own pockets). His actual birth records may have been lost or unknown.
So he could play an extra year of Little League.
