[Frank Herbert] Please share your thoughts on his novels, specifically The God Makers

I just read Frank Herbert’s “The God Makers,” and I’m curious to hear what anyone has to say about the book. I enjoyed it, but like most of what I’ve seen in my search of reviews and analysis, the book could have been expanded upon in a more in-depth novel. I’ll appreciate the crash course nature of the read, but I want to hear people’s thoughts on Herbert’s talks of philosophy, religion, and all things related.

    I don’t think this really fits in this subreddit, which is more about asking questions regarding the settings or lore of various universes, like

    “Why did Gondor not help Rohan?” Or smth like that
