Question for you, do you feel house reps care about the current economic dip? From their (democrats) perspective this is keeping their seat safe. For republicans they won’t buck trump unless it’s a very clear and convenient time to do so. The constituents don’t seem to matter nearly as much in the strategy.
I absolutely think it is worth it to write and call your representatives and senators, regardless of their party and put pressure on them.
But the reality is that it is highly unlikely Republicans will take the steps needed to stop this and Democrats cannot do it alone.
Anyone who is in a district or state that is R +1 through R +10 should be concerned about reelection. If all the other motivations for stopping this are not enough their personal electoral motivations should compel them. But once again, the Republican Party is filled with people who for various reasons believe groveling before Donald Trump is the only path forward.

I can’t think of anything else to do to stop what’s happening. I’m at a loss.
