“Stalled vehicle” laws shouldn’t apply to abandoned vehicles

r/

The laws where you have to move over for all disabled vehicles, should not apply to abandoned vehicles that clearly have no people near them. Especially on busy highways when they cause hundreds of cars to merge over. Nor should it apply when the disabled vehicle is more than 6ft off the road. The laws are about safety but you’re also increasing the risk of accidents by all the merging cars when there are no people nearby.

If there’s a car on the shoulder, you move over. It’s that easy.
