for some reason, weed on reddit

  2. LinkerOfFire Avatar

    Phone addiction is up there.

  3. NightExtension9254 Avatar

Anger. These days everyone’s always angry about something, and sometimes people actively want to get angry.

  4. Ok_Method_988 Avatar

It’s hard to say between cell phone addiction or social media.

People will stay on their phone during work, sex, eating, talking with friends, and driving unfortunately.

    Never text and drive 🛑

  5. nrg117 Avatar

Food and drink.   Because it’s so easy.

  6. pot-smasher Avatar

working as much and long as possible

  7. standvi Avatar

Sugar, coffee, alcohol and sex. Id say sugar and alcohol are very underrated in how destructive they are on our bodies.. Alcohol is by statistics alone considered the worst drug to exist, it causes unprecedented destruction and havoc.

  8. ImportantMap4783 Avatar

Coffee, food, or prescription meds. I’d say I’m addicted to my prescribed meds because without them I get withdrawals and I need it to function correctly.
    But I also use pot.

    Caffeine. Definitely.

I was going to say alcohol, but there’s still a stigma attached to overindulgence in it.

  13. InternationalTwo8173 Avatar

    Coffee, phone, porn

  14. Proud_Car_5509 Avatar

    High fructose corn syrup

  15. Dirty_Sanchez74656 Avatar

    Sugar.

I had a professor in college talk about the psychological effects of sugar and how our brain’s react to it similar to cocaine ingestion.

  16. Chuckle_Prime Avatar

    Caffeine or food

  17. AggressiveSource2890 Avatar

Alcohol seems to get a pass since it’s so widely available. At least here in the states.

  18. Sarge1387 Avatar

    Social Media addictions.

The irony is not lost on me, don’t worry.

  19. DeeCentre Avatar

Sugar. So so bad for a body in the quantities we deem acceptable.

  20. Grand_Sleep_ Avatar

    Validation, has to be

  21. hockeynoticehockey Avatar

Work. It’s not only accepted it’s rewarded.

  22. MynameisMatlock Avatar

Gambling has become so mainstream the last few decades, especially with all of the apps and the constant advertisements making it more accessible than ever.

  23. slowinagoodway Avatar

    Attention on the internet 😇

  24. No-Advisor6632 Avatar

    Gym/Fitness.

Gotta work out 6-7 days a week or I just don’t feel right.

Tons of positives so long as you’re not using gear or doing dumb shit like CrossFit but if I stop I don’t feel right physically or emotionally.

  25. rembrarylunar Avatar

    addiction to books

  26. rhodeweerie Avatar

    Eating (more specifically “over eating”)

Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye. Bro dropped one song, emotionally wrecked the whole planet, then vanished like a ghost with boundary issues.

  29. Living_Simple_4963 Avatar

    Eating food when not hungry

  30. Dusty-Foot-Phil Avatar

    Caffeine. If anything, it’s encouraged.

  31. My_Space_page Avatar

Caffeine probably. It’s not only accepted but mostly encouraged. Most offices have some sort of coffee or soda machine around to get people thier fix. World wide, coffee tea and soda are very popular drinks.

  32. Kaje26 Avatar

    working, to be honest

  33. Cnorton1982 Avatar

    Caffeine & porn

  34. youngbullindustries Avatar

    Dihydrogen monoxide

  35. ThereIsNoWifi Avatar

I would argue sex is currently the most accepted addiction. It’s everywhere you look.

  36. KyleStevo99 Avatar

Nicotine is ridiculous, how normalised vaping is these days is concerning.

  37. ClassierThread Avatar

Cocaine is widely accepted social amongst all circles, fact.

  38. counterspell Avatar
  39. inupiaq-907 Avatar

    Phone and booze

  40. Doesntmatter1237 Avatar

Caffeine, there are $100 billion international corporations(Starbucks) dedicated to feeding this addiction

  41. JustGottaKeepTrying Avatar

As Oasis would say, cigarettes and alcohol.

  42. hippiechick725 Avatar

    Alcohol for sure

  43. copolii Avatar

    Phone, work, caffeine, & clicks

  44. plytime18 Avatar

    Sugar

Because it’s in everything and people only get real about it when they are told their cholesterol is a mess, or diabetes is in the mix.

    It’s a fucking drug.

I once cut out ALL sugar, and almost all carbs for 5 days straight — first time ever – I leaned out within days – i ate a cookie on day 6 — took a bite – WOAH.

    It’s a drug

  45. Novel_Order9005 Avatar

Coffee. We’re quick to blame people for being addicted to social media, phones, energy drinks, smoking, vaping, drinking etc but coffee is almost considered healthy a lot of times. And people rarely gets called out on it. Sugar addiction is also pretty tolerated.

  46. AlternativeMuffin896 Avatar

    Social media and gambling

  47. braumbles Avatar

Weed. First people say it’s not addictive, probably isn’t from a physical point, but I can’t tell you how many people simply can’t function without smoking in the morning, afternoon, or night. That’s an addiction imo. It may be mental, but it’s still an addiction.

  48. Youpunyhumans Avatar

Alcohol is up there. Id probably call it the most accepted destructive addiction. Ive seen more peoples lives destroyed from alcohol than anything else by very long ways.

As for the most accepted (mostly) non destructive addiction… either coffee or phone screens.

  49. sugarbabe_4u Avatar

    porn and social media

  50. Expensive_Scheme_519 Avatar

Social media or phone for sure

  51. phoenix14830 Avatar

    Electronic entertainment.

Phones, tablets, video games, Internet surfing. I have five screens up right now (three monitors, a tablet, and a phone) and as soon as work is over, it’s common to have a phone or tablet out while the tv is on. Weekends, dinner, and public outings are filled with electronic obsession and trying to have a turn off weekend is met with intense scorn, peadings for a hit, and sneaking off to get a fix that only an addict would truly understand.

  52. imheretocomment Avatar

Haven’t seen a single mention of nicotine yet

  53. antelope591 Avatar

I would say Alcohol still easily takes it considering how harmful it is. Heavy alcohol use is basically guaranteed early death. Can’t really say anything close to that for Coffee. And its still so easily accessible and accepted to the point where expanding access to alcohol is a popular political tool.

  54. GreenLurch Avatar

    Social media, memes, coffee, alcohol…

  55. Bobo_Baggins03x Avatar

Phone/media. No doubt. It affects virtually everyone. As someone who’s married to a coffee fanatic, caffeine has to be up there too.

    Masturbate? Is it coun?

  58. SouthernExpatriate Avatar

    Sugar. It’s the quiet one.

  59. Medical_Revenue4703 Avatar

Fitness probably. It’s not as popular as Social media but it tends to get a lot of praise.

  60. Graehaus Avatar

Caffeine, look how many coffee and tea shops out there or in people cupboards. It’s so normalized nowadays.

  61. Anifan211 Avatar
