I was terminated from my job due to time theft. I have been working sick with pneumonia for over a month. I told my boss that if I had to log off of the phones, it would be to vomit, cough, or breathe. My boss was 100% aware of this. I told her I would be doing this because I did not want to abuse the restroom privilege (only one person can use the bathroom at a time e ven when working from home). I offered to completely log off and she told me I did not have to. When I logged in for work, I saw a msg in Slack that a new agent was needed. I assumed I was going to be fired because we spoke of some bad QA’s I had during my AM shift and she told me not to stress it and it was fine. She then messaged me telling me to log in to some Google meet thing. I did and her husband (who sold the company and is no longer in charge of it) began to call me a thief, stupid, and I would have to pay the money back or I would face criminal charges and go to jail on a felony. His wife (my boss) was in on the meeting and said nothing. She was aware of me logging off the phones due to my sickness. I do not want to go to jail. They just emailed me to say that if I do not pay it back that charges will be filed against me tomorrow. I told them to just take my Wednesday check and the following for the 7 hours I worked so I won’t go to jail. When I emailed my boss, her husband clearly answered her email because she has bad spelling issues. He told me if he could not withdraw the money, he would press charges on me and have me arrested.
But he scared me so bad, I just told him to take my paycheck (which was the $600 he claimed I owed) and I have heard nothing back since.
