Any type of homemade pasta sauce. My tomato basil and alfredo sauces ALWAYS taste even better the next day. You can really taste the herbs and garlic once they’ve infused into the sauce overnight.

    The answer is chili.

    The answer is always PIZZA

  18. Thoth74 Avatar

Pretty much anything considered a stew with the exception of fish or seafood based stews (seafood is almost guaranteed to become overcooked upon reheating).

    White Chicken Chili,
    Taco Pizza homemade

  20. Mello-Knight Avatar

    Powdered pecan ball cookies.

  21. Chaotic424242 Avatar

Plain rice. Fry it a day later when there’s less moisture.

  23. alexisdelg Avatar

Most chilis and stews, I find that the extra time helps the flavors meld and develop.

Pasticcio is also good the following day

  24. RayBuc9882 Avatar

Anything that’s spicy and will get even spicier a day later.

  25. starlight8827 Avatar

BIRYANI THE NEXT DAY omgggggg. The way the flavors infuse is just chefs kiss

  26. DemptyELF Avatar

Rice – reheating cooked rice that has been cooled for 24 hours reduces the calories and carbs and increases resistant starch.

Strong argument for Irish Stew… but I gotta say I miss my mother’s lasagna the next day. Just barely reheated enough, loved that.

  28. Freds_Bread Avatar

A lot of soups, especially different kinds of bean soups.

  29. idriveadodgestratus1 Avatar

    spaghetti/lasgana

  35. 92Loren Avatar

    Curry of any kind 🤌

  36. Zolo49 Avatar

Any soup, stew, or curry is going to taste better the day after since it gives the water more time to pull flavor out of the various ingredients. Same goes for a lot of casserole dishes too.

I remember my mom used to make a chicken broccoli casserole that was so much better the day after that she started preparing them a day in advance so they’d taste better the night we were actually supposed to eat it.

  37. thelisareid Avatar

    Chicken adobo

  38. Independent-Bike8810 Avatar

    Anything with many ingredients.

  39. NaBrO-Barium Avatar

  40. Stefinreffa Avatar

Chicken ziti broccoli Alfredo! The sauce does something when it sits a good 24 hours

  41. JesusStarbox Avatar

Soups and stews. They need some time to mix.

  42. rumbellina Avatar

    Chili or stew

  43. CFoer02 Avatar

Rosatis pizza — they’re real greasy but when it cools the cheese and grease thicken up and become the single best hangover breakfast in the world

  44. ayyay Avatar

It’s said that one reason fried chicken became popular with the Southern Black Americans is that it holds so well. When you’re not allowed to eat in the restaurant, a dish that is still delicious after sitting in the bag for a few hours (or a full day) is a real treat.

  45. Jaderholt439 Avatar

Eat it the next day and you will thank me.

  56. Western-Blackberry26 Avatar

probably controversial but stroganoff or cheesy enchilada rice hamburger helper

  57. manmeat4u Avatar

    Alright hear me out.

Mac & Cheese. Refrigerate it. Once fully cold and cheese has congealed over the noodle, microwave it. When it’s piping hot smother it in ketchup and stir until ketchup has an even layer all over the pasta.

Best cheap and day after meal. It might be my Canadian side and love for ketchup coming out…

  58. ThompsonReyes Avatar

Many Indian curries are best the day after. Yes, I realize that’s a ridiculously broad category.

  65. Eventually-figured Avatar

Chili, curry, any type of stew

  66. Psyko Avatar

Any sauce, stew, or soup. I’m pretty sure braising holds true to this as well, I just don’t do it often enough to weigh in with any authority.

My understanding is that the extra day allows everything to blend and any chemical reactions that are taking place will reach their end result.

Be patient…you – and those you feed – will definitely be rewarded.

  67. wolf-master Avatar

Pizza. Whether it’s delivery or not. The best way to eat pizza is cold, out of the fridge, the next morning. Don’t even heat it up
