Unless it is on the basis of something you can’t control If you are being bullied or similarly treated poorly by coworkers/bosses frequently that’s on you and YOU need to understand what aspects of your behavior that invite retaliation and fix them

I find it absurd that in so many situations we are taught to be responsible and to consider our roles in a bad situation, except in cases where we are bullied at school or work. Some people are clearly subject to more bullying than others throughout their lives and frankly, I’ve always been under the impression that they brought it upon themselves by being poor communicators, socially inept, or unwilling to learn.

I think we would save a lot of people from misery if we teach them to adapt to their environments rather than reassuring them that they are fine as they are.

So because I was a quiet and different kid, it’s then my fault for getting bullied?

    That’s not know it works.

    Straight up victim blaming, classy.

And also, while “poor social skills” is hypothetically something a person can “fix”, it’s not like it’s trivially easy. For people with truly poor social skills you need therapy / counselling and constant practice with that provider, which is extremely expensive and thus inaccessible (if it’s even available where you live).

I’d normally say an opinion of this caliber needs therapy, but I think I’m gonna go with this one needing Jesus.
