I (35m) recently underwent surgery and my girlfriend (of 32f) drove me to the hospital. While there she was applying to grad school courses and much to her surprise they limited her applications after taking her money. She was very vocal how upsetting this was for her. Doctors called me in, post surgery I was very loopy. I couldn’t think straight and she told me my medication came out to a ridiculous amount. I normally don’t second guess invoices (such as restaurants) I usually leave my card and assume everyone was honest and so fourth. Anyway, even being as loopy as I was it took me by surprise. I said there’s no way. We made it home and I looked in the bag and showed her the receipt. It was only a few dollars. I had a strange feeling she was hoping I was just going to wire her without checking to make up for the money she lost applying to graduate school programs. Am I wrong for assuming she was hoping I would just wire her that amount she said it was?

Ask her directly why she told you what she did. More than likely, she will try playing it off as ,”you were loopy. You are imaging that I told you that ” and deny saying it. That will tell you everything
