Do women like it when A guy uses hand gestures while talking ?

r/

I was on a date today and I can’t stop thinking about what this girl said, “You use your hands a lot when you talk huh?” but she was so excited about the conversation that I forgot but I just wanted to ask ?

Would you prefer a guy who talks without expressing himself with his hands or a guy that does ? tytyty for responding 🙂

I prefer people who have interesting conversations. With or without hands is quite irrelevant to me, to be honest.

like, um, uh, ya know….those are fucking annoying. if she doesn’t like hand gestures tell her to stay away from Italians and Italy (I’m sure she’s ‘precious’)

I use them as a tool, to keep people engaged in my conversation, as well as emphasis on certain aspects/points of said conversation. Personally, those who also talk with their hands, I feel have a little more passion behind what they are saying/feeling.

No, I don’t prefer it. It’s fully irrelevant to me.

It sounds like she was just making an observation. I think I speak for most women when I say we like it when people seem comfortable and not like they’re forcing themselves to be one way or another. If speaking with hand gestures is natural for you then carry on.

The only times I find it annoying is

    1. People doing “anime” hand gestures

    2. When people block walkways and nearly hit people with their dramatic hand gestures

    3. People who are cooking and start unintentionally their waving their knife around while talking

I’m a man. When people talk with their hands a lot, I find it distracting. I tend to watch their hands and not listen to much but their tone because I’m thinking one of those hands might hit me in the face at any moment.

This is irrational. I learned this in the military. Don’t be like me.

I’m very expressive with my hands, and I love when other people are too. To me, it adds to the conversation, and helps me articulate. When my hands are doing stuff while I talk, it’s easier for me to not lose track of what I’m saying (I’m on a lot of hard core medication that makes me very absentminded and messes with my memory horribly, to the point I forget the words that just left my mouth). Plus, if the other person is using hand gestures too, it’s easier for me to follow what they’re telling me

Guys, is it gay to use my hands?

OP everyone is different, there is no right or wrong. Are you 16? Just be her friend, take her on nice dates, be open and respectful. She will probably like that.

I think using hand gestures and animation at times is a good thing. Helps people get engaged, helps with humor, and it just make people seem more enthusiastic overall. That said, this isn’t for all situations or maybe not even most situations but still, for many situations it sure helps. Communication is mostly body language anyways.

Not everyone will like it but if you are with anyone one on one you can perceive if they are open to gestures. Are they watching if your hand movements are getting too close to them? Or are they maintaining mostly eye contact? It’s the old saying, read the room correctly and you’ll be good.

As long as you’re not waving your hands around so much that you end up smacking her in the face. I did that once I accidentally. She was a good sport about it, just said “I was waiting for that to happen someday“

Can’t understand the question without seeing your hands, please make it a video, thanks
