I’m upset after a chat with an Nebula astrology specialist

r/

I’m feeling really down and could use some advice. I’ve been dealing with family issues lately – my parents keep fighting, and I’m stuck in the middle of their conflicts. It’s been weighing on me a lot, so I decided to distract myself by trying a service where you can chat with consultants. I paid for a session, hoping for some support.
But the chat only made things worse. I explained how hard it is to be caught between my parents, but the consultant just told me to “let it go” and “go for a walk to clear my head.” When I said that doesn’t help, he told me I’m “not trying hard enough to be positive.” I felt so unheard and even more alone. Now I don’t know how to deal with this feeling – I’m already on edge, and this chat just made me feel like no one cares. Has anyone had a similar experience? How do you cope when you feel this crushed? Thanks for listening.

Try journaling your feelings; it helps me when I feel overwhelmed.

When my parents fought, I’d leave the house for a bit to clear my mind. Also, don’t let that consultant’s words get to you.

That sounds unprofessional. Focus on small things you can control, like a hobby. It’ll help you feel less stuck.

I’ve been there with family drama – it’s tough. I found writing down my thoughts helped. Also, that consultant sounds useless.

They sound dismissive and that can feel disappointing or worse when in real need of empathy or support.

Sorry that happened to you, OP.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, and that was terrible advice. How are you supposed to let go of something you’re going through now?

I’m reading the adult children of emotionally immature parents right now which i think might be a good read in your situation.

Have you tried a therapist instead of an astrologist?

If you can, please search for an online youth therapist/counselor. They will be able to discuss things in an educated, trauma informed way vs. an astrologist. Most counselors offer a free 30 introduction where you can ask them about their approach, values, etc and find someone you think would be a good fit.

Being stuck in the middle of family conflict, especially between your parents, is a kind of emotional strain that no one should have to carry alone. You’re not overreacting, you’re not being too sensitive—you’re a human being navigating something incredibly tough.

And honestly, I’m so sorry the consultant responded the way they did. That kind of dismissive advice—“let it go” or “you’re not trying hard enough”—isn’t just unhelpful, it’s harmful. You’re reaching out for connection and understanding, and instead, you got brushed off. That can make the weight feel even heavier. It doesn’t mean your pain isn’t valid—it just means that person wasn’t equipped to respond with the care you deserve.

You are sooooo not alone in this. So many people have been through similar things and have felt crushed, unseen, and stuck. Your experience, as isolating as it feels, is something others can relate to—and that means support is out there, even if this first try didn’t work out.

You can feel how you feel. There’s no “right” way to cope with something this hard. If you feel down, tired, numb, angry—that’s not failure. That’s being human in a hard situation.

Seeking another avenue of support might be worth while if it’s a therapist who actually listens (there are good ones out there, truly), a support group, a trusted friend, or even a community online—you deserve to be heard and treated with compassion. Don’t let one bad experience convince you that no one cares. Some people do get it. You just haven’t found your people yet. Even adults might have to cycle through a few specialists to find the right fit. Even though it can be hard to be vulnerable with a stranger, when you find the right one it’s worth the effort.

Just take small steps right now. If “being positive” feels impossible right now, that’s okay. Maybe today, it’s just about getting through the next hour. Maybe it’s journaling, listening to music that understands you, texting a friend, or just letting yourself cry. Healing doesn’t have to look like a walk in the sunshine—it can look messy and slow and real.

You’re not weak for feeling this way. You’re strong for speaking up, even here. You’re strong for still being here.

You can proclaim yourself Sweden and be neutral. You don’t have to get involved with the issues between your parents.

Take control of what you can:

    • learn what healthy relationships are, and when it is time to leave a relationship or friendship.

    • start considering your future; moving out, supporting yourself. The more detail the better, and remember that those details could also change.

    • find a productive outlet: something that can help you express these feelings, and think outside the box.

I’ve been where you are; focusing on realistic goals and taking what steps you can towards achieving them is a terrific distraction.

A Nebula Astrology specialist isn’t a licensed therapist, which is why their advice is crap.

Look up licensed therapists who deal with teens and young adults.

So sorry you’re having to deal with this. My parents should have divorced years before they did and it was hard for everyone.

But please don’t waste your time and money and emotional energy on people who don’t know you and can’t really help you. Having someone to listen to you is very important -friend, family member, mentor, teacher. Trust yourself and what you’ve learned

It might make you feel better if you got a refund and left a negative review?

have you tried reaching out to a counselor at school? they should be able to find you some support. I know it’s hard but there is help out there.
