Waiting game now. Advice?

In the application process for local sheriff’s department in northern Virginia.

I had my physical agility test last month (top 3 of the 20+ applicants on the test date), crushed my interview this month (pending conditional offer), waiting to schedule poly, medical and psych still a ways out. I currently work in a secure building and have a clearance. I have reviewed the crime statistics for our town for the last 3 years, currently reviewing local ordinances and state code, pertinent case law, and PTing. (My background is 9 years military and 2 with Fed specializing in military law and criminal prosecution)

Anything else I should be doing right now? Next academy isn’t until July. Only concern I had was that wife is pregnant and due in August. They told me I’d likely be able to leave for the birth but would have to return immediately after. Not a deal breaker – just trying to manage expectations.

Forget you’re in the process. Stay in shape. Carry on with life. They will call you when they call.

You still have a good while to be able to say you got it, just stay healthy and out of trouble
