Around 2010, I saw a web animation about an elderly woman named either Edith or Edna (I think!) and her cat Princess (I am 95% confident in Princess, but it could also be Dutchess. The name 100% ends in ess). It is a strange artstyle with a mix of 2d and 3d elements. Edith lives alone with Princess and her grandson is coming to visit in several days. The animation is somewhat ‘off’ but not horrific. Suddenly, Edith falls and because her TV is up very loud, neighbors cannot hear her. Princess eats her after several days, and as she is being eaten she tells Princess that she must take her (Edith’s) strength and live on.
In the description of the animation, I remember that they are described as being cut off or isolated for ‘…reasons’ and that it is a ‘heartwarming and bone-chilling tale’ of friendship??? The details are hazy. I haven’t been able to find this animation anywhere and searching with those keywords brings up nothing.

That sounds an awful lot like Nana and Little Puss Puss. The actual cartoon starts at 1:42.
