Did anyone (including yourself) have judgements about dating someone with a relatively severely different mental state?
I’m a bit neurodivergent, and have friends/family members who have severe autism and/or other delays/disabilities/whatever. I think most people frown on a certain amount of mismatch between mental capacities, but it’s hard to judge how wide the gap can/should be.
Did she have an intellectual disability? I’m reading that people with William’s syndrome typically have an IQ of 50-70. If so, did you feel like you were taking advantage of her? Some people might see a relationship like this as imbalanced or predatory.
Just want to say as a sped teacher, I’ve had the pleasure of working with two students with Williams syndrome. I would pay money to always have someone with Williams syndrome in my classroom. Even at their worst they don’t have hateful bone in their body. I read you struggled with anger before dating her. Could tell us a bit more about the impact her personality, and approach to life had on your own personality and approach?

One of the symptoms is delays in cognitive development. Do you not find it unethical to date someone who doesn’t fully understand consent?

Which kind of Williams did she have? Robin? Serena? I’ve heard Pharrell is one of the hardest to deal with.
Were there unforseen challenges in the relationship that someone might not anticipate? Other than her moving away, of course.
