What age did you stop growing?

r/

I’m 15 and i’m 5,6, i haven’t grown in a year i think. My dad is 6,0 and my mom is 5,1. My grandparents on my dad’s side are 6,2 and 5,4. On my mom’s side they are 5,3 and 5,5. My dad’s brother is 5,11. My mom’s brother is 5,5. Most of my cousins are close to 6,0 or over that. I would really want to know if i stopped growing or i still have time. I think i hit an earlier growth spurt in 5/6 grade, i don’t remember though. I can provide for info if needed! I want to see where i am at in terms of if i can grow any taller, let me know when you stopped growing and if you had similar conditions!

You are wasting your time trying to predict the future. There is no way to accurately predict how tall you will be.

    At 16.

If you are 15 I think you are in your last chances, and I would say that if you were going to hit anywhere near 6’0 that’s now unlikely. But anything can happen, good luck!

You’re most likely gonna be pretty short. I wouldn’t worry about shit you can’t change.

I’m almost 32 and I still have shirts from high school that fit me so it’s been a while but I’d guess around 16 or 17 or so

I reached my full height by 18. But my body still had a lot of growing to do

    You’re basically maxed out

    Vertically? 16-17, horizontally, still going.

18 for me, but you can keep growing into your early 20s.

About 14/15, just after the puberty induced growth spurt.

My cousin was the shortest kid in the class half his life. When he started high school, he sky rocketed to 6’5.

I grew late. I was 5’5″-5’6″ until I was almost 17. Was 5’11” when I graduated, hit 6’1″ around 20. Some guys are late bloomers.

I’m 27 in October ( I remember being 15 like it was yesterday) and I’m pretty sure I’m the exact same height as I was back then.

Actually what’s weird is a doctor took my height in 10th grade and I was 5’5. My doctor in the last year took my height and said im 5’3 (with doc martens on). So I don’t even know 😂 I don’t feel any taller (or shorter lol) than I was back then.

I broke my leg at 14, I went to the hospital a few days later to have it set and cast, all that. The doctor told my dad they saw my growth plate had pretty much finished and I was done growing at 14. 5’9″. My dad is like 5’11” and my brother had some major medical issues as a kid, so he stopped at 5’7″.

About 19 I think. I was a late bloomer and was 5’3 until I was 14 and then grew to 5’11 by 19.

I got 6’1″ by 12 years and only grew another inch by 16. I’ve only lost an inch since then due to back injuries.

Most of my noticable height came around 17/18. In big bursts of growing complete with some pretty bad leg cramps. Over the next couple of years I slowly grew a couple more inches then started to also get wider in my shoulder. I wanna say that I stopped around 22/23.

Eat lots of protein, do pull ups . Stretch a lot and basically whatever you can do .

You may still have a chance to grow . I’m 15 too (16 in 3 days) , and I gained about 1 inch in the year . But was already 6’0 before that and didn’t really focus on my diet ( I weight like 55 kg , really underweight). So I think you’d have a chance to grow more .

We learned to estimate this when we studied paediatrics. Your expected height will be around 175 cm +/- 10 cm. You add your parents height in cm, divide by 2, for a boy add 6,5 cm. This height +/- 10 cm is the expected height.

Somewhere between 16 and 17, with that last year adding an inch or so.

I finished growing in my sophomore year.

Didn’t start until summer before senior year- didn’t stop until about 23-24…I was 5’3″ up until senior year and I’m now 6ft. Talk about a character building experience.

The correct answer is around 20 years. The bone growth is a process called ossification and most people experience it for 20 years.

  25. Goregutz Avatar

I was about 5’9 at 14 after puberty. I then grew another 4 inches over the next 2 years….

Early twenties. Don’t worry bro, you got plenty of time.
