Does anyone else feel like turning into an adult just feels kind of odd in general?

It’s just like you go from being a kid in school where you’re pretty much all good if you just get good grades. But, as an adult it’s like there’s 100 different things you do and things people can judge you on. For example, just greeting people in a normal way at work. As a kid it’s like that doesn’t even matter. You don’t even have to talk to anyone if you don’t want to probably.

Not an adult yet (mid teen) but it will be so much worse than it is now.

I remember when I got my first real job in my career after finishing college. I got the job, moved out of my parents home and halfway across the country to where the job was.

Suddenly I went from basically no obligations or bills, to having to pay for rent, groceries, utilities, etc. in the span of like two weeks lol. I remember one day just being like, “I have a job and I’m now paying bills and for an apartment. This is the shit adults do, I guess I’m an adult now.” It definitely felt pretty weird.

I’m 53 y.o. and it never feels normal. And every time you think you’ve got “it” down, you get another curve ball.

Everything going well? Fuck that, you’re upstairs shower is kow leaking and damaging your downstairs ceiling. Time to learn about your 1% deductible, how to work with a project manager, rediscovering that you and your spouse have differing aesthetics.

My mom just 2 days ago said, it took a really long time for me to really become an adult. And.. still not there yet. According to her. I’m 43.

    Edit. Added my age
