I can’t remember many details at all but here is what I can recall:
The plot focuses on a girl who lives in a futuristic world (dystopian but appears utopian on the surface). Iirc, her dad was officially very powerful in the city or just harsh on her to abide by the rules.
Everything in the city was paid for by some kind of token system and there was a leisure centre that the MC liked going to but (possibly) couldn’t at some point due to being punished.
Some scenes I vaguely remember include, her lying in the grass secretly with a male character- I assume they weren’t meant to be together? And a scene where the house is raided and something is found (this could’ve been by law enforcement or just her parents). I think it was a block of flats but that could just be how I imagined it when reading.
The book was written in English I read it sometime before 2020 so anything published after then wouldn’t be it.
Comments
also I have no clue on its popularity as I would read any YA dystopian books my library had
Uglies?
Matched by Ally Condie?
