My grandfather is now 80. He was born in 1945 in Romania. I love him dearly. A story he once told me that stuck with me was in 1953, he was 8 years old in primary school in Dobruja, Romania. And back then there were forced to teach Russian in the class due to the government of Gheorghiu Dej making it mandatory in school. Anyways. So in one day. The primary school teacher told his class.
“Let’s cry because father Stalin had died” and then the teacher proceeded to flip the picture of Stalin (context: all the classes had a picture of Stalin framed on the wall) and the elementary school teacher started to cry, and the girls went along with it and also the boys followed suit.
When he came back home. My grandfather was asked by his father why did he cry and my grandfather that “Father Stalin died.” And his father told “You need to cry when I die not that thug”
Anyways. Hope you liked it. And tell me what you think about it!

Thanks for that story, I’ve always known history was important, to know and learn from. Unfortunately many people don’t feel the same
